Nohelia Vargas Bolivar is a Venezuelan artist based in Houston and Boston. Her current work combines animation as well as painting. The subject of her pieces is a reflection of life at the center of a self-feeding socioeconomic system, in which delay, anxiety, and depression are regarded are as inefficiencies and errors when they are in fact natural human experiences that exist in the realm of normal people.
Vargas earned her BFA at University of Houston with an area of concentration in Painting and a minor in Art History, and she obtained her MFA at The Museum School at Tufts. She is also the former manager of The Mariago Collective Art Gallery and a former docent from the Blaffer Art Museum.
